Gary is a sweet and decent man. Only two things would improve his life - having children with his gorgeous wife, Pauline, and a lower golf handicap. Both are unlikely. Pauline is wondering how she ended up living in an ugly little house, driving a second-hand car and making a living dressing up as Tinker Bell. She's planning to leave Gary for a self-made carpet millionaire. Findlay, the Carpet King of Scotland, wants to trade in his obese wife for a younger model. But if he goes for a divorce, she'll take him to the cleaners. If only there was some way she could be made to disappear.... Lee, Gary's luckless brother, has botched one too many drug deals. Local crime overlord Ranta Campbell gives him one more job - one last chance to get it right. Lee's done some bad things - but murder? When Gary gets smashed on the head by a golf ball and miraculously develops an absolutely perfect swing, everyone finds their fates rest on the final day of the Open Championship.... 1. Sustainable Fashion Supply Chain Management

This handbook is a compilation of comprehensive reference sources that provide state-of-the-art findings on both theoretical and applied research on sustainable fashion supply chain management. It contains three parts, organized under the headings of "Reviews and Discussions,""Analytical Research," and "Empirical Research," featuring peer-reviewed papers contributed by researchers from Asia, Europe, and the US. This book is the first to focus on sustainable supply chain management in the fashion industry and is therefore a pioneering text on this topic. In the fashion industry, disposable fashion under the fast fashion concept has become a trend. In this trend, fashion supply chains must be highly responsive to market changes and able to produce fashion products in very small quantities to satisfy changing consumer needs. As a result, new styles will appear in the market within a very short time and fashion brands such as Zara can reduce the whole process cycle from conceptual design to a final ready-to-sell "well-produced and packaged" product on the retail sales floor within a few weeks. From the supply chain's perspective, the fast fashion concept helps to match supply and demand and lowers inventory. Moreover, since many fast fashion companies, e.g., Zara, H&M, and Topshop, adopt a local sourcing approach and obtain supply from local manufacturers (to cut lead time), the corresponding carbon footprint is much reduced. Thus, this local sourcing scheme under fast fashion would enhance the level of environmental friendliness compared with the more traditional offshore sourcing. Furthermore, since the fashion supply chain is notorious for generating high volumes of pollutants, involving hazardous materials in the production processes, and producing products by companies with low social responsibility, new management principles and theories, especially those that take into account consumer behaviours and preferences, need to be developed to address many of these issues in order to achieve the goal of sustainable fashion supply chain management. The topics covered include Reverse Logistics of US Carpet Recycling, Green Brand Strategies in the Fashion Industry, Impacts of Social Media on Consumers' Disposals of Apparel, Fashion Supply Chain Network Competition with Eco-labelling, Reverse Logistics as a Sustainable Supply Chain Practice for the Fashion Industry, Apparel Manufacturers' Path to World-class Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainable Supply Chain Management in the Slow-Fashion Industry, Mass Market Second-hand Clothing Retail Operations in Hong Kong, Constraints and Drivers of Growth in the Ethical Fashion Sector: The case of France, and Effects of Used Garment Collection Programmes in Fast Fashion Brands.

This book has evolved from the passionate desire of the authors in using the modern concepts of multibody dynamics for the design improvement of the machineries used in the rural sectors of India and The World. In this connection, the first author took up his doctoral research in 2003 whose findings have resulted in this book. It is expected that such developments will lead to a new research direction MuDRA, an acronym given by the authors to "Multibody Dynamics for Rural Applications. " The way Mu- DRA is pronounced it means 'money' in many Indian languages. It is hoped that practicing MuDRA will save or generate money for the rural people either by saving energy consumption of their machines or making their products cheaper to manufacture, hence, generating more money for their livelihood. In this book, the initial focus was to improve the dynamic behavior of carpet scrapping machines used to wash newly woven hand-knotted c- pets of India. However, the concepts and methodologies presented in the book are equally applicable to non-rural machineries, be they robots or - tomobiles or something else. The dynamic modeling used in this book to compute the inertia-induced and constraint forces for the carpet scrapping machine is based on the concept of the decoupled natural orthogonal c- plement (DeNOC) matrices. The concept is originally proposed by the second author for the dynamics modeling and simulation of serial and - rallel-type multibody systems, e. g.

'I love her books - particularly the Five Children and It sequence' - Neil Gaiman THIS IS THE SECOND BOOK IN THE PSAMMEAD TRILOGY, FOLLOWING FIVE CHILDREN AND IT Contains all of the original illustrations by H. R. Millar, beautifully reproduced. 'For the egg was now red-hot, and inside it something was moving. Next moment there was a soft cracking sound; the egg burst in two, and out of it came a flame-coloured bird...' When a stone egg rolls out of the old rug that has been bought for the nursery, the children think nothing of it. A lovely glowing yellow, they place it on the mantelpiece to brighten up the room. But when the egg accidentally drops into the fire, a strange thing happens: out hatches a phoenix, resplendent in golden feathers - and very vain. If that weren't enough of a surprise, it tells them that their carpet is magic: it will take them to any place that they wish to visit - over their dusty London streets to the French coast, to tropical islands and an Indian bazaar. Guiding them throughout their adventures - though he's often more a hindrance than a help - is their new friend, the phoenix. 'The cheerful, child-centred anarchy of Five Children and It is still my inspiration and delight' Kate Saunders, Guardian 'My all-time favourite classic children's author' Jacqueline Wilson 'If Britain is to children's fantasy as Brazil is to football, then Edith Nesbit is our Pele - endlessly surprising and inventive. But she is more than that. There were fantasy writers before Edith Nesbit but she is the one that brought the magical and the mundane together in a moment of nuclear fusion. She opened the door in the magic wardrobe, pointed the way to platform nine and three quarters. She even had a hand in building the Tardis. And these are among her minor achievements. She is also simply the funniest writer we have ever had, while being the one who could most easily and sweetly break your heart with a phrase. Just try saying 'Daddy oh my Daddy' without catching your breath. She made the magic worlds feel as near as the Lewisham Road and she bathed the Lewisham Road in magic' Frank Cottrell-Boyce This collection of the best in children's literature, curated by Virago, will be coveted by children and adults alike. These are timeless tales with beautiful covers, that will be treasured and shared across the generations.
